Dayak's Culture

Dayaks of West Kalimantan has been inhabited since thousands of years ago and consists of 350 sub-tribes. Dayak is now estimated migrants from Yunnan (China Eastern) is a major migration around 3500-3000 BC and arrived in the archipelago, including in West Kalimantan. Several large sub-tribe of the population now are Kendayan Village, Mualang, Iban, Kantu’, Pompang, Krio, Ketungau, Seberuang, Bakatik, Parks, wealth and Ribun.

            Underdevelopment, Dayak cause a negative stigma against people come Dayak. .. Dayak poor, stupid and retarded, cultivators move, the destruction of forests and more negative impression of the Dayak. Dayak is still considered animists who worship trees and boulders. They are religion and like to be friends with anyone. Their religious activity is also evidenced by the maintenance of respect or natural or living environment. Nature is seen as a shared house that provides all the needs of human life and other living creatures.

Not only that, the Dayaks of local wisdom that has been handed down may be one policy option for all people who live in these islands. Dayak of West Kalimantan is the other tribes in Indonesia, as with all the wealth of culture and philosophy.
